Rewards Group, Dandaragan, Western Australia.

The Rewards Group employ a large amount of seasonal workers which are predominantly back packers here in Dandaragan. The majority stay here at the Redgum Village here in Dandaragan.

Although the Redgum Village was not initially set up for backpackers, we have and are still restructuring a portion of the Redgum Village to cater for this need.
We can comfortably house 40 backpackers and have a proposal for the Dandaragan Shire to improve our facility as to be more user friendly in the weekends and to build a separate backpackers kitchen and dining room.
Other facilities are a much needed pool and games room.

Here is some interesting facts from the Rewards Group and further info can be obtained from there website or contacting us here at The Redgum Village.

Tropical Fruits Projects
Level of Water Security: Irrigation water is supplied to Rewards’ Tropical Fruits Projects in Dandaragan from a very large aquifer known as the Leederville Parmelia aquifer.

The Leederville Parmelia aquifier is situated about 80 meters underground and water is pumped from the aquifer by a large pump at a rate of 70 litres per second. In 2007/2008, Rewards will install a second large pump into the Leederville Parmelia aquifer that aims to draw water at a rate of 100 litres per second. Rewards’ Tropical Fruits Projects are
allocated annually 1.89 gigalitres of high quality water from the Leederville Parmelia aquifer.

Rewards’ water allocation from the Leederville Parmelia aquifer for 2006/2007 is 100%. The Leederville Parmelia aquifer is now ‘fully allocated’ to land owners in the region. Rewards Group owns the property and the water licence that is used in the Rewards’ Tropical Fruits Projects. This source of water is not dependent on rainfall.
